Product characteristics
These templates by lettering artist Heather Martinez make it easy to create a six-sided figure on large format boards, such as Graphic Walls, Pinboards, or FlipCharts. The little Hexits are also suitable for sketchnoting in a smaller format. Ideal for various visualization purposes – like diagrams, honeycombs or other containers.
The four hexagonal templates (from 4.3 cm to 21.5 cm) are centered on each other on a practical transport device and are secured with a ruler. After loosening the handle screw, the ruler can be removed and the Hexits are ready for use.

How many ways can I hexagon...
I've been using the hexagon-shaped templates for about 5 months now (I had a prototype version) and I'm continually finding more uses for them! I can be a shaky drawer, especially when drawing live, so it gives me great comfort to be able to throw out a few consistent shapes in the moment!
I first used them in a graphic recording for a Bio-tech organisation. I needed to connect one piece of content to another - and I filled the space with a series of different sized hexagons. It was a perfect fit - both design and content wise (I then filled the spaces with icons).
Since then I've used them in quite a few recordings - either as connectors or as containers for information. Where they stand out from the Circles/Orbits is that the shapes 'stack' really well. It gives a great 'honeycomb' effect - which can be impactful, and is also really efficient on space (and as someone who often runs out of space, this is helpful!)
They've become a part of my standard kit that I take to every job, along with the orbits :-) Highly recommend.
Great idea for drawing hexagons!
This is a great idea to quickly draw hexagons during graphic recording or facilitation, as different combinations to produce nice graphics. Just needs a little improvement (on this v.1) as the ruler does not properly hold tidy all the parts (better than with Orbits anyway). This is a must have! Great job Heather and Neulnad.
